Outsourcing client: Dana DiTomaso
Edmonton new media professional Dana DiTomaso started her career as a website developer in Ontario, and built up an impressive roster of regular clients. After moving to Edmonton in 2010, Dana chose to focus more of her time on the consulting side of her business. I’ve been working with Dana as a website development outsource service provider since the fall.
‘The Unknown Studio’: Word Rhyming
In December, I was a featured guest on The Unknown Studio, a popular Edmonton podcast. I talk about my self-published poetry book, the mourning after, as well as my career in website design and multimedia, Words with Friends creative writing collective, and being a geek girl for more than a decade and a half.
‘the mourning after’ launch party – #yegwords3
A few months ago, I posted about my upcoming poetry book, the mourning after. Full details about the book are posted on my new personal website project, confessionality. The official launch of the book will take place at Words with Friends 3 (aka #yegwords3) on October 26 at Bohemia (10217 97 St).
KikkiPlanet.com launch party.
The launch date for KikkiPlanet.com is fast approaching. September 30, 2011. A week from tomorrow. In addition to building the entire website from scratch, designing all the graphic elements for the website, designing and producing print materials associated with the site, designing business cards, and casting another set of eyes on every piece that Kikki has written for the site so far (which are all, by the way, FANTASTIC), I’ve also been helping her plan her launch party for the website.
KikkiPlanet sneak peek!
KikkiPlanet.com is now updated with a splash page that provides a sneak peek of the concept for Kikki’s new website, which will launch on September 30. Progress on the site is coming along nicely and we’re very excited about the upcoming launch at the end of the month!
New project: Just Breathe Edmonton!
Just Breathe Edmonton is a non-profit initiative with the goal of raising awareness about domestic violence against women and families, and raising $100,000 in support of WIN House (Edmonton Women’s Shelters).
New project: “the mourning after”
I am so very very proud and excited to report that I will be releasing a poetry book! It’s called the mourning after, and will be comprised of a selection of my poems spanning the last 15 years. The book is about sex, love, heartbreak, loss, grief, anger and human relationships. The book will also include illustrations done by my close friend Andreas Loutas, a naturally gifted artist whose work is dark, complex and provocative.
New client: KikkiPlanet!
Kathleen Smith (aka @KikkiPlanet), one of Edmonton’s leading Twitter personalities and also one of my best friends, is starting a blog! Think a cross between Joan Holloway, Miss Hannigan and Katherine Hepburn, and you’ve got it. I am excited to announce officially that I will be her website project manager, responsible for designing her site and helping her maintain it.
