Ladies Learning Code Edmonton

I’m proud to be signed on as a mentor for the first-ever workshop presented by the Ladies Learning Code Edmonton chapter – Intro to HTML/CSS. I first met Edmonton’s Chapter Lead, the very talented Bree Emmerson of BE3Designs, at WordCamp Edmonton in November. We immediately hit it off, coming from similar professional backgrounds, both as self-employed website developers running our own companies of one. I’m so proud of her for taking the initiative to found the Edmonton chapter of LLC, as this organization does important things for empowering women in the field of computer and internet technology. I’m excited to revisit my roots and remember a time about 17 years ago when I first started to learn about HTML and CSS, get back to basics and assist a new group of Edmonton ladies to establish the core foundations for understanding website development. I’m very honoured to have been asked to be a part of it.

The workshop takes place this Saturday, July 6 at the Startup Edmonton HQ in the Mercer Building from 10am-5pm. Mentors include some of Edmonton’s leading ladies in website development. Click here for further details.
